I am so excited to have your child in class this year!
This is my eleventh year of teaching third grade at Creekmoor Elementary School; I was hired when Creekmoor Elementary opened. My family and I live in Raymore; both of my children attended Ray-Pec. My son Zachary is a senior in college at UCM this year, majoring in Industrial & Occupational Safety. He is a sports enthusiast and loves the outdoors. My daughter Megan will be a freshman at Avila this year, pursuing a degree in nursing. She graduated from Ray-Pec last year and through the Cass Tech program, she received her C.N.A. when she graduated! Megan is an avid golfer and loves the outdoors as well. We are very proud of our children, as they are wonderful human beings!
My husband Dave and I have been married for twenty-four years. We have an English Springer spaniel named "Bristol"who is very spoiled. We are big MIZZOU fans; football especially. We enjoy all sports as a family and follow the Chiefs, STL Cardinals and of course the KC Royals. We try to go to as many games as possible and cheer for our favorite teams.
I received my Bachelor of Science in Education (with an English focus) from the University of Central Missouri. I received my Master of Science in Education (with a curriculum and instruction focus) from the University of Missouri-Columbia. I started my Educational Specialist degree in Curriculum Design, but with two children in college now, I have put that on the "to do" list for later. Curriculum design is definitely a passion of mine. I am also a certified Google Educator.
My teaching philosophy is every child is capable of learning, beginning with motivation and inspiration. I am an enthused learner, and I hope to inspire learning in all of my students through collaboration and the building of strong relationships. In my classroom we work very hard, but we also have a lot of FUN!!
